Schloss Fuschl Resort & SPA – the legend lives on

Legendary hotels like Schloss Fuschl Resort & SPA, Fuschlsee-Salzburg are a rarity in this world. From its incomparable location on a peninsula in Lake Fuschl, this castle has been hosting the nobility and clergy, empresses and film stars since 1450. It was back in the 1950s when Schloss Fuschl achieved world fame. Its fairytale location on the banks of Lake Fuschl made it the ideal backdrop for the "Sissi" series of films about Empress Elisabeth of Austria, starring Romy Schneider.

The hotel has been fully renovated with loving attention to detail. During this work, the aim was to maintain a balance between the traditional and the modern, between hotel and nature, and to include the more than 550-year-old castle tower as a monument within this unique ensemble.

Important constituents of the castle are the Schloss Fuschl Collection, featuring some 150 paintings by Old Masters, a small Sissi museum and the historic permanent exhibition of coaches and vintage cars. The nostalgic vehicles are also available for hire as a means of exploring the romantic Alpine roads. And yet another unique feature: Schloss Fuschl Resort & SPA, Fuschlsee-Salzburg has its own fishery, serving diners fresh fish from one of the cleanest lakes in the state of Salzburg.

Also on sale is Schloss Fuschl's own collection of "Dirndl" and "Janker", the traditional local costumes.
